After a gorgeous day in the sun, there’s nothing more important than treating my skin to a little extra TLC. Even when you’re being responsible with SPF, sun exposure can leave skin feeling dry, sensitive and in need of a serious hydration boost. Over the years, working backstage and on shoots, I’ve learned that post-sun care is just as important as pre-sun care. Here, I share my edit of the best products and rituals to soothe, repair, and revive your face and body after sun-soaked adventures.

Why Post-Sun Care Matters

Even if you’ve been diligent with your SPF, the sun can still zap moisture from your skin and trigger sensitivity. The key is to focus on gentle cleansing, deep hydration, and calming ingredients that help restore your skin’s natural balance. Think of your post-sun routine as a little spa moment, your skin will thank you for it.

After wearing sunscreen and spending time outdoors, it’s essential to thoroughly cleanse without stripping your skin. I love using:

My Top Tips For Post-Sun Skincare

Hydrate from within: Drink plenty of water and try coconut water for an electrolyte boost.
Keep it cool: Store your favourite face mist or moisturiser in the fridge for an extra-soothing application.
Don’t over-exfoliate: Let your skin recover before using strong acids or scrubs.
