Timberland 6-Inch Luxe Waterproof Boot Horween Leather: Available Now

Timberland is no stranger to making premium versions of its iconic 6-Inch Premium Waterproof Boots — it’s right there in the name, after all. And yet, it’s not often that the model veers into a lane that’s as high quality as the just-released Luxe Waterproof Boot.

In partnership with Chicago-based Horween Leather Company, the TimberLand Luxe Waterproof Boot uses Horween’s Dryden nubuck leather in place of Timberland’s already premium materials. Timberland says the Horween Dryden leather, which is tanned in the USA, is desirable for its unique character and soft hand feel. 

In addition to the upper and lining, Horween Dryden leather is also used on the laces and welt. The shoes also come packaged with two standard sets of boot laces. Branding is kept subtle, with Horween’s stamp appearing only on the inner lining and hangtag. 

Despite these material changes, the boot still retains its signature waterproof seam-sealed construction, making it a viable option for the winter weather. Other details, including the padded leather color and anti-fatigue footbed, also remain unchanged. 

And to further elevate the Luxe edition of the model, Timberland added a Vibram outsole for enhanced durability and traction. 

This isn’t the first time Timberland has tapped Horween for extra-premium Premium Waterproof Boots. The Chicago tannery has previously applied football leather, natural tan leather, perforated leather and more variations to the iconic lace-up boot.

With temperatures beginning to drop, noteworthy Timberland releases have been more frequent. On Thursday, the VF Corp. owned-and-operated brand launched its latest collaboration with Supreme: three patchwork versions of the 6-inch boot.

The Timberland 6-Inch Luxe Waterproof Boot is available in classic wheat nubuck and black nubuck styles and retails for $380. The boots can be purchased now from timberland.com and select Timberland retailers.
