With summer coming to a close, the calendar is already filling up with everything September brings, and my cart is following suit. I’m eyeing pieces that make getting dressed feel particularly festive again: a lace-trimmed dress, an embellished skirt, a feathered bag. Things that bring a little new-season energy to an outfit and capture that excited feeling of what this time of year brings.
For the girls, getting dressed becomes part of the back-to-school reset. Leopard, punchy pink, patterned jackets, and bright ballet flats bring some fun to the return to routine and make those everyday school mornings more playful.
At home, my eye is moving toward pieces with more visual volume. Patterned upholstery and marbled ceramics, small pops of color on the walls. More pattern, more texture, more personality — exactly the direction I want to take things for fall.
