Nike’s Air Max 95 Takes on Cow, Snake and Croc Treatments All at Once

Nike has already joined in on the animal print movement that’s been sweeping through sneaker brands, as classic models and more contemporary offerings have recently adopted the trend. One shoe that hadn’t joined the herd yet is also one of Nike’s hottest shoes of the moment, but that’s soon due to change with a trip to the farm and beyond.

The Nike Air Max 95 “Cow Print” does away with the upper’s mesh panel and one of its signature wavy stripes in favor of a large swatch of pony hair with a brown and white bovine pattern. Neutral tones are maintained throughout the rest of the sneaker, as are more standard materials for a suede toe tip and the leather stripe directly beneath the cow print. But more exotic materials are to be found as the stripes continue, with one each in crocodile- and snakeskin-textured leathers. Completing the rendition is an always-welcomed gum outsole.

Pony hair printed with different animal patterns has become a recurring motif across the sneaker landscape from 2025 through to now, most prominently appearing at Nike via the Air Force 1 Low with renditions including leopard and cow prints. Credit has to go to Wales Bonner for kicking off the phenomenon with its early Adidas Samba collaborations, an aesthetic that Adidas has also continued in-line with close lookalikes.

Sans the shaggy material, further animal looks have popped at Nike on drops including a cow Primeknit Pegasus Plus and an Air Force 1 Low with leopard print canvas Swoosh. Many of the Kobe Bryant editions of the Air Force 1 Low have also featured a snakeskin treatment befitting of the Black Mamba moniker.

During this time, the Air Max 95 has also been subject to a series of elaborate twists since the model’s 30th anniversary brought it into the forefront. And with the first animal print coming now, it’s hard to believe more won’t follow.

The Nike Air Max 95 “Cow Print” doesn’t yet have a release date confirmed but will likely come in October via Nike’s website and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $190.
