Air Jordan 8 Retro ‘Cavs’ 2026 Release Date 305381-005

Michael Jordan’s eighth signature Air Jordan sneaker will reportedly receive a new colorway inspired by one of his most memorable on-court moments in his fourth Air Jordan model.

According to Sneaker Files and @zsneakerheadz, the Air Jordan 8 Retro will be released in a new “Cavs” colorway in 2026. The Black/Racer Blue/Safety Orange color combination takes a page from a 2012 Air Jordan 4 Retro that donned color blocking similar to what’s expected on the upcoming Air Jordan 8.

In-hand images of the Air Jordan 8 Retro Cavs aren’t yet available, but an early speculative mock-up depicts an all-black upper with a mix of orange and blue strokes on the shoe’s abstract art pattern. The style gets its colors from the 1980s and 1990s uniforms of the Cleveland Cavaliers. More specifically, the aforementioned Air Jordan 4 was inspired by a game-winning shot — fittingly nicknamed “The Shot” — hit by Jordan on May 7, 1989 to win the opening round of the NBA playoffs.

The best-of-five series was tied two games apiece going into the pivotal matchup and with just seconds left, Jordan hit a jumper from the free-throw line to clinch the series win. It was a crushing defeat for the Cavaliers and particularly humbling for defender Craig Ehlo, but for Jordan, it’s one of the defining moments of his early career.

While the Air Jordan 8 model doesn’t feature the same on-the-nose connection, it sounds like Jordan Brand will be applying a similarly blocked colorway to the sneaker, which was originally released in 1993. This year, the Air Jordan 8 returned in its fan-favorite Aqua colorway and will be reissued in its original “Bugs Bunny” style in November.

Despite news of an upcoming Cavs-colored Air Jordan 8 Retro, there’s no word yet if the Air Jordan 4 colorway will also be returning.

The Air Jordan 8 Retro Cavs is expected to be released during fall ’26 for a retail price of $205. The sneaker’s style code is 305381-005 and it will be available from Nike’s Snkrs app and select Jordan Brand retailers.
