Bad Bunny is paying tribute to the landscapes and cultural richness of Puerto Rico in his latest collaboration with Adidas Originals.
The “NUEVAYoL” singer, who kicks off his Puerto Rican residency on Friday, has taken on the German footwear brand’s Gazelle silhouette and updated it in three colors. Adidas noted that the collection “serves as a love letter to the island that shaped him, highlighting places that deserve global recognition beyond the well-known streets of San Juan.”
Rooted in Benito’s deep affection for his homeland, the Gazelle City Series brings Puerto Rico’s vibrancy to life through three distinct colorways that celebrate the island’s most meaningful locations. “Each colorway is a tangible expression of place, crafted with pride and authenticity,” Adidas noted.
The colors include “El Yunque,” which is represented in deep green tones that honor the lush biodiversity and cultural heritage of the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System.
Santurce is captured in vivid orange, reflecting the epicenter of Puerto Rican music, dance, and contemporary artistic energy. And, Cabo Rojo comes to life in vibrant pink, inspired by its famous salt flats and the rare natural phenomenon of pink waters caused by salt-loving microorganisms. Despite the lingering effects of Hurricane Maria, Cabo Rojo remains one of the island’s ecological treasures. Echoing the sentiment of “No me quiero ir de aqui” – the title of Bad Bunny’s residency, Gazelle Cabo Rojo is captured on a cast of elders from Puerto Rico – the keepers of its stories and heart.

To preserve the authenticity of the tribute, Adidas added that select colorways from the Gazelle City Series will be available exclusively to residents of Puerto Rico. Gazelle El Yunque and Santurce will be exclusively available in Puerto Rico on July 11. Gazelle Cabo Rojo will be launched globally at a later date.
This launch follows the singer’s viral Ballerina sneaker silhouette, which sold out earlier this spring. Drawing its design inspiration from the iconic Adidas Taekwondo model, originally crafted for martial artists at the peak of their sport in the early 2000s, the Ballerina fused sleek, modern aesthetics with a nod to its performance heritage.
