Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Nitro Release Date

After delivering one of the most talked-about sneakers of the year thus far with the “Brick by Brick” Air Jordan 4, BMX pro Nigel Sylvester and Jordan Brand have more up their sleeves before 2025 comes to a close. In addition to an expected “Brick by Brick” follow-up colorway, one of the themes seen on a previous Sylvester sneaker is getting transferred to a brand new Air Jordan 1 Low collab.

A first look at the upcoming Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG “Nitro” surfaced Sunday from sample leaker @sharkicks1. First reported in December, the pair is essentially a low-top iteration of the black Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 OG High debuted by the biking pro in 2022. And that high-top pair was an exclusive spin on Sylvester’s original Air Jordan 1 from 2018, a pre-yellowed, scuffed-out-of-the-box version of the sneaker designed to resemble a pair of well-ridden Jordan 1s.

While a public release of the black high-top never came to fruition, fans will soon have a chance to get something similar. First looks reveal that the Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG “Nitro” features all of the same details found on its high-cut counterpart.

There’s a tumbled black leather upper with a Muslin swoosh, a pre-yellowed midsole, tongue “Bike Air” branding, mini Swoosh embroidery at the toe and simulated scuff details throughout the design. Portions of the shoe appear stained and weathered, not unlike Nike’s “Dirty Triple White” Air Force 1, which went viral in April.

Sylvester’s longtime partnership with Nike, Inc. dates back to the mid-2000s when the young athlete worked with the brand’s Nike 6.0 action sports label.

The Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG “Nitro” is expected to be officially released on Aug. 2 for $150. The collaboration has a SKU of IB8958-001 and a full colorway of Black/Muslin/Varsity Red. This story will be updated with any potential changes between now and then.
