Nike Air DT Max ’96 Low 2026 Release Date IF5478-001

Nike is making the most of its Deion Sanders partnership, which was renewed in 2023 after a lengthy split following the original 1990s deal between the Oregon sportswear brand and the former dual-sport star.

We’ve already seen numerous releases of his first signature sneaker, the Air Diamond Turf, and his third model, the Air DT Max ’96, along with an Air DT Proto ’92 based on an original prototype. Sanders’ second model, 1994’s Air Diamond Turf 2, is due for a reissue in 2026, but that’s not all. Newly surfaced imagery and info reveals that one of his popular models will soon receive a first-of-its-kind low-top update.

The Air DT Max ’96 Low is the first time Nike has made a low-cut variation of the early ‘90s Diamond Turf models. Based on a cut-off teaser image, the shoe retains much of its original elements including its claw-like pattern and visible heel Air Max unit, but there are a number of key differences between the new variation beyond its lower cut build.

Most notably, it looks like the upcoming pair will forgo the midfoot support strap of the original model, a change which could prove controversial to purists. The shoe also implements a jewel Swoosh logo and what appears to be a mesh base.

Beyond this newly surfaced Air DT Max ’96 Low, Nike has a number of other Sanders sneakers on the way. The Air Diamond Turf will be released Monday in a “Must Be the Money” colorway inspired by his rap career.

In July, BMX pro Nigel Sylvester told Footwear News that the Air Diamond Turf line was one of his favorites this year. “I love what Deion is doing with the Diamond Turfs. Getting that back into the sneaker ether has been super dope to see,” Sylvester said.

Previewed in a Colorado Buffaloes-appropriate white, black and metallic gold colorway, this Nike Air DT Max ’96 Low is expected to debut in 2026 for a retail price of $170. The style code for this pair is IF5478-001.
