From Queens streets to global fame, Nigel Sylvester has always blurred the line between BMX grit and style culture. Teaming up with Jordan once more, his latest collaboration – the AJ1 ‘Better With Time’ – rides that philosophy into sneaker form and harks to an unreleased Air Jordan 1 High sample from 2022.
The name says it all. Scuffed by design, the Air Jordan 1 x Nigel Sylvester opts for premium tumbled black leather that envelopes the low-top while a woven ‘Bike Air’ tag and an aged ‘Sail’ midsole add a vintage warmth. Swooshes take their usual spot on the sidewalls, and further branded hits arrive in the form of mini embroidered Swooshes residing on the toe, the subtle ‘Jordan Biking Co.’ stamp and Wings motifs on the heels. Underfoot, the ‘Varsity Red’ sole adds visual contrast with a pre-distressed finish. Each pair come in a custom box with artwork by Sylvester.
