SHOPPING MY SUITCASE – Atlantic-Pacific

Inevitably I hit a point in every long travel trip when I start to run out of things to wear. I will admit that I am not the best at packing! One thing I have found interesting is when I start to have that ‘welp, I have worn every planned outfit’ feeling, I begin to shop my suitcase and force myself to be more creative. I look at items differently and pieces I didn’t intend to wear together start to make sense. I end up forcing myself to be a bit more imaginative and many times will create looks that I love much more than the original looks that I had in mind.

I still have more content to share from NYC and Prague, but today I thought I would share some of the ways that I mixed and matched this Tuckernuck skirt while visiting Prague. And, if you like leopard also check out this piece, this piece and this piece). Let’s break it down below…

ADDING SOME COLOR

Would it be an A-P outfit without some color? I ended up wearing this sweater paired back to the skirt, but it felt a bit bulky and was awkward to tuck. Instead, I tied this jacket around my waist to give the look more shape. To better tie in the maroon in the sweater and jacket I wore these shoes in the same hue. I added my favorite clutch and earrings.

Since we are talking about packing, I’ll highlight a few of my traveling must-haves. These are the RTW, shoes, and accessories that I pack on every trip I take. They aren’t necessarily the most photographed pieces, but are the true workhorses in my suitcase(s). The items that I throw on to go grab coffee in the morning, for a late night ice cream stroll, or what I’ll wear to and from the airport.

A GREAT PAIR OF FLATS // Recently these and these are the flats that have been packed time and time again. These flats are a recent addition to my rotation, but the brand has been a forever favorite. The new shape and colors feel super fresh – check out that forest satin! I am only packing flats that I know will be comfortable and help avoid blisters from long hours of walking!

A CASHMERE SWEATER // I run cold so even in the dead of summer I am packing a cashmere sweater. The Marin sweater is my go-to!! I will also occasionally throw this in my carry on bag as a blanket/scarf option. I always find myself shivering on a airplane, cold car transfer ,or ice box feeling restaurant.

EASY DENIM // Easy denim that is truly throw on-the-go is a non negotiable. They need to be loose fitting, cropped, and have an easy waistline. These are by far my favorite (15% off with code BLAIR15). I first picked them up late in 2024 and have since gone back for more washes.

MY FAVORITE BUTTON DOWN // I am so sad that this style is sold out in so many sizes, as I receive so many DMs about it. The Veronica Beard button down that is fitted but extra long is a great, easy layering piece (as witnessed above). I hesitated putting it on the list as readers hate when I link to pieces that are practically sold out, but it felt like a big miss to not include it!
