Hermanos Koumori Adidas Evo SL JS2441 Release Date

After tapping Hermanos Koumori for its first global collaboration last year, Adidas Running is now turning to the Mexican running label for its hottest shoe.

The Hermanos Koumori x Adidas Evo SL takes on an earthy color palette inspired by Mexico City. Featuring a woven upper distinct from the model’s typical build, the shoe is predominantly driven by a gray-on-gray. Dusty purple then serves as an accent on the tongue, laces and insole, as well as the heel segments of the outsole. Branding for Hermanos Koumori also appears on the tongue and insole, while its mantra “Run With the Mind” is printed faintly on the outsole.

Hermanos Koumori chose the mix of grays to represent the streets city runners pound and the muted purple as a stand-in for Mexico City’s surrounding area and those who venture outside cities for their runs.

The woven upper marks the third different build for the Evo SL, which got a wide launch last year to much acclaim. Apart from its baseline construction, an ATR iteration for all-terrain came late in the fall with a water-resistant ripstop upper and a lugged outsole. The through-line for each is a Lightstrike Pro foam midsole with geometry similar to the plated Evo Pro super shoe.

Ben Hodge, senior vice president of product and merchandising for Adidas North America, told Footwear News last fall that the Evo SL has become its bestselling running shoe and has become popular for both performance and lifestyle, similar to the original Ultraboost 10 years prior.

Fittingly, it was the Ultraboost 5 representing footwear in Hermanos Koumori’s first Adidas collab.

The Hermanos Koumori x Adidas Evo SL is out now on Adidas’ website and app. Pricing is set at $150.
