Air Jordan 5 Retro ‘White Metallic’ 2026 Release Date HQ7978-103

Following the success of the Air Jordan 5 Black Metallic Reimagined, Jordan Brand is reportedly set to bring back another silver-accented version of the classic sneaker, this time in white.

Originally released in 2000, the Air Jordan 5 Retro White Metallic (sometimes called Metallic White) wasn’t one of the model’s original colorways, but it closely followed the template of those 1990 styles. It features a white leather upper that’s accented with metallic silver throughout, including on the midsole’s fighter jet-inspired “teeth,” Jordan’s personalized 23 heel embroidery and most crucially, on the reflective tongue. All in all, it’s essentially a white-based remix of the original Black Metallic look, although the white version omits red for a more neutral color combination. 

Following its top-of-the-millennium debut, the Air Jordan 5 Retro White Metallic has only been reissued in its original form just once, in 2015. A similar women’s-sized low-top was released in 2007 and in 2024, a Reverse Metallic colorway added black throughout the midsole and liner.

Now, the style is expected to be reissued during summer 2026 with the addition of original-styled Nike Air branding on the heel, a first for this particular pair. 

February’s Air Jordan 5 Black Metallic Reimagined is widely regarded as one of the year’s top sneakers. The pair featured subtle updates including a reflective heel logo, whitened seam edges and the addition of white shoelaces, a reference to the way Jordan himself sometimes wore the style on the court. 

In June, the model was released in its original Grape look, one that’s fondly remembered for being worn by Will Smith’s “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” character. Looking ahead, it will be featured in a two-style collaboration with Awake New York in August followed by the original Fire Red style in September and a new 35th Anniversary makeup in October. 

According to @zsneakerheadz, Sneaker Files and Sneaker Market Romania, the Air Jordan 5 Retro White Metallic will be released during summer ’26. Its full colorway is White/Metallic Silver/Black and the style has a SKU of HQ7978-103.
