Nike’s outdoor basketball-equipped S.T. line is expanding with the debut of a brand new model at NBA All-Star Weekend.
The Nike S.T. Charge builds on Nike’s outdoor-oriented Street Tough line by introducing a first-of-its-kind rubber compound and bringing along NBA All-Star Cade Cunningham as its anchor athlete. Images and video shared by @davyc3 of Sole Collector China show what to expect from the upcoming model.
The new pair is the line’s most rugged yet, with a new rubber the brand is calling XDR-X that wraps from the outsole to the shoe’s midsole and upper for increased durability on outdoor surfaces. But what makes XDR-X unique is that not only is it primed for asphalt, but it’s also been tested on indoor surfaces, where Nike found there was no performance sacrifice despite the atypically tough construction.
“We would create a shoe that would beat the environment,” Nike senior director of basketball footwear product design Ross Klein said of the ambitions behind the S.T. Charge.
The versatile new rubber is paired with a drop-in midsole featuring full-length Cushlon and an articulated, contoured Air Zoom bag.
While Cunningham will receive his own signature sneaker in 2027, the Detroit Pistons star has in the meantime been selected as the face of the S.T. Charge. For All-Star Weekend, Nike made a player-exclusive “Warning Label” style for Cunningham featuring a red iridescent upper with his logo on the tongue. He’s expected to wear the style during Sunday’s All-Star Game.
Previous Nike Street Tough models including 2025’s S.T. Flare and the upcoming S.T. Dynamite have been exclusive to China, and the S.T. Charge is expected to have similar availability. The model is due to be released later in 2026.
