Kate Moss Reunites With Hunter Boots for the Brand’s 170th Anniversary

Two British icons, Hunter and Kate Moss, have reunited for a global campaign launching Friday in celebration of the footwear brand’s 170th anniversary.

Hunter was founded in 1856 and has spent almost two centuries creating outdoor products, with the Original Tall Wellington Boot living at the heart of its legacy. The functional boot has become a signature symbol of the brand, and it’s a style Moss has a special connection to.

Moss’ relationship with Hunter spans more than two decades, when she incorporated the Original Tall Wellington Boot into her off-duty style. She famously wore black Wellington boots to Glastonbury Festival in June 2005, helping to turn the boots into a hallmark of festival fashion.

“I’ve been a loyal fan of Hunter for years, ever since the festival where I wore them with way too short shorts and a waistcoat,” Moss said in a statement. “I was just about to leave the house and heard it was already knee high in mud in the fields. I went to my trusted Hunter wellies in my closet. They were black and were tighter to the leg and they were waterproof. Bingo!”

For the new campaign, Moss wears reimagined versions of the iconic Wellington boot.

The global fall 2026 “Iconic by Nature” campaign honors the past while looking ahead to the future; it captures the individuality, instinct and effortless attitude that have linked Hunter and Moss for a long time. With a focus on the landscape and countryside culture that have influenced Hunter from the start, the imagery brings together the brand’s utilitarian heritage with Moss’ unique style, fusing past and present through a modern lens.

“Hunter has never had to choose between its heritage and cultural relevance,” said Stefani Fleurant, executive vice president of marketing, sport and lifestyle at Authentic Brands Group, owner of the Hunter brand, in a statement.

“The two have always been connected. Kate embodies that in a way few people can. Her relationship with Hunter began organically more than two decades ago and became part of the brand’s story. Bringing her into our 170th anniversary is both a celebration of that history and a statement about where Hunter is going next.”

The 170th anniversary encompasses the fall 2026 collection as well, which blends past, present and future with heritage icons, modern design and technical innovation beyond traditional rubber Wellington boots. In Europe, the collection is anchored by the 170th Anniversary Original Tall Wellington Boot in Hunter Green, a faithful recreation of the first Original Tall, including the signature color. The commemorative edition features gold hardware and the original heritage badge reading “since 1856.”

The European lineup also includes the Downpour Tall Boot in Black and Elements Neoprene Chelsea Boot in black, in addition to three jacket options. The products were curated around three defining pillars: Heritage, Contemporary and Innovation, mirrored in the Originals, Downpour and Elements collections.

For the U.S. and Canada, the collection evolves Hunter’s distinct design codes, placing the Original Tall Wellington Boot in Black Croco alongside the Giania in Chocolate Brown Waterproof Suede Tall Boot and Maribel Puffy Snow Bootie in brown. Beyond footwear, outerwear and sportswear are featured as well.
