Kobe Bryant Nike Air Force 1 Low Linen IH1018-200 Release Date

Nike is flooding the scene with both old and new versions of the Air Force 1 Low made for Kobe Bryant. Numerous new colorways have been released since last year and will continue into the near future, and next year will bring the first public release for a denim edition from 2006.

Joining the mix is the Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Linen,” a name that indicates its primary color but neglects to mention the large portrait of Bryant on the upper. While all the upper panels are rendered in a linen-colored leather, Bryant’s face is printed oversized in metallic gold beneath the Swoosh at the lateral collar. The sole unit is then rendered entirely in a translucent blue, although the Air unit at the heel isn’t visible like it was on the original edition of the sneaker.

Blue contrast stitching on the Swoosh does return, however, as does a left insole printed with the words, “performance, strength, innovation, revolution and power.” On the right shoe, Bryant’s logo then makes a new appearance.

Thicker leather is noticeable in both productions of this Air Force 1 Low, while the toe tip notably doesn’t sit with any visible stitching.

The previous edition of this sneaker dropped in 2007 as part of Nike’s 25th anniversary celebrations for the Air Force 1. It sold for a premium at $250, but its return will come at a more palatable price point of $150.

While the color choices may seem odd, they do closely align with the jerseys the Lakers wore in Minneapolis before moving to Los Angeles.

The Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Linen/University Blue” is expected to release during this year’s holiday season, likely through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers.
