For those that do not know, J.FitzPatrick is the brand that I started in 2013. I specialize in welted shoes with a twist. But I also love sneakers, as my original love of shoes came from wearing sneakers as a youth. Like with all of the shoes I design, I opt for classic ideas with a special J.FitzPatrick twist to it. Here we look at my new J.FitzPatrick Prosser Sneaker.
If you have ever lived in England, you know that Nikes do not rule like they do in the US. Reebok does, as it is a British invention, and most guys are not wearing the style of “trainers” you see in the US. The shape of your average sneaker over there is more influenced by the Classic Reebok.
Having lived in London for 7 years, I really began to appreciate that look and style. But funny enough, I hardly ever wore them; while living there, I was “welted up” Monday through Sunday. When I came back to the US, I started wearing them more frequently, as I was often traveling to the Dominican Republic for vacation. It was my go-to style for that climate and island vibe.
As I usually make shoes that I want to wear myself, I told myself that one day I would model a pair of sneakers under the J.FitzPatrick brand that was inspired by the Classic Reebok look. And that day is today: Meet the J.FitzPatrick Prosser Sneaker.
For me, the Prosser is the more sporty brother of the Olympia (my other classic sneaker model). While the Olympia offers classic, clean lines and no frills, the Prosser is all about casual, sporty elegance. It’s clean yet fun and comfortable.
And as we speak, I just landed in England, visiting my second home, and have my Prosser shoes in tow!
