Nike Air Max 95 Racing Pack Release Date

The year-long celebration of the Nike Air Max 95‘s 30th anniversary has taken it through a variety of scenes. Collaborations on the classic sneaker have included “Yu-Gi-Oh!,” Levi’s, Corteiz and Nike SB, while there have been an abundance of in-line colorways with the “Big Bubble” treatment, including the iconic “Neon.” And for its next act, the Air Max 95 is going racing.

The Nike Air Max 95 “Racing Pack” consists of three colorways with subtle inspiration from motorsports. Each makes faint use of color — purple, green, or orange — and the only outward-facing callout to racing comes via striped eyestay ribbons. On the inside, you’ll then find a decal-style graphic with the number 95 on the insole.

The purple-accented variant features shades of gray for its leather and suede stripes, while black canvas takes the remaining territory. Purple is then saved for the outline of the Swoosh, eyestay striping and the tongue logo, as well as the heel’s “Big Bubble” Air Max unit sitting inside a black sole unit.

Black then forms the entirety of the upper for the orange-accented pair, which applies its colors in the same places as its sister shoes. The most dynamic of the trio is the neon green version, which runs through a broader range of grays to go along with black. It also boasts the lone white midsole of the lot, sitting atop a black outsole.

Racing aesthetics are popping up more frequently in sneakers, particularly from brands with official ties to Formula One racing. And just this month, Victor Victor did up two colorways of Nike’s Air Max Dn8 modeled after a few of his favorite cars.

The Nike Air Max 95 “Racing Pack” doesn’t yet have a firm release date but is expected to launch during the holiday season through Nike’s website and select third-party retailers. Pricing for each colorway is set at $190.
