Salomon Inks Five-Year Deal With Ironman as Premier Partner, Details

After its involvement in the Winter Olympic Games earlier this year, Salomon is investing more in sporting events with a new partnership with Ironman.

Starting in 2027, the French mountain sports brand will start a new five-year partnership with the global triathlon leader as global premier partner through 2031, with exclusive rights across performance footwear, apparel and technical bags within the Ironman ecosystem.

The deal will also see Salomon as the title partner of the 2027 Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, marking a major milestone in the brand’s growing presence across endurance sports. Plus, at each Ironman and Ironman 70.3-owned event included in the partnership, Salomon will have naming rights to the run course, which will become the Salomon Run Course.

Guillaume Meyzenq, president and chief executive officer of Salomon, said that the partnership comes at a time when “athletes no longer define themselves by one sport.”

“They run on the road, compete in the mountains, take on triathlons and continually seek new ways to challenge themselves,” the CEO noted. “Endurance has become a lifestyle. For Salomon, joining forces with Ironman is a natural step and an opportunity to bring our performance expertise to one of the world’s most committed endurance communities.”

And according to Salomon, the partnership is set to come to life through three areas that define the French brand’s approach: athletes, product and human performance expertise.

Athletes will be at the heart of this next chapter alongside Marjolaine Pierré, Julie Iemmolo and Casper Stornes, three athletes who already compete at the highest level of long-distance triathlons. Their experience will bring first-hand insight into the specific demands of training, racing and running after hours of effort, helping inform Salomon’s approach to the sport, the company noted.

As for product, Salomon said it will develop footwear and apparel designed for the specific demands of middle- and long-distance triathlons, with opportunities for athletes to test these products across selected Ironman and Ironman 70.3 events.

For Scott DeRue, chief executive officer of The Ironman Group, the company is “united” with Salomon in the belief that endurance sports “unlock human potential.”

“This partnership is rooted in a commitment to serve athletes and help them pursue ambitious goals,” DeRue said. “Salomon’s heritage, performance expertise, product innovation and community-driven philosophy make the brand a natural partner for Ironman. We look forward to working together to enhance the athlete experience across our community.”

And as the partnership kicks into gear, Salomon is focused on its big moment in Kona next year with an event at this year’s championship. Indeed, during the 2026 Ironman World Championship, Salomon will bring its first activation to Kona with a pop-up at Kona Heaven on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8. Visitors will be able to see the brand’s range of performance products and chat with experts and athletes like Courtney Dauwalter and Jessie Diggins.

“To become a title partner of the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii is both an honor and a responsibility,” Meyzenq added. “We are entering this partnership with humility, ambition and a long-term commitment. We want to contribute to its future while respecting everything that has made Kona iconic and create lasting value for the athletes and communities who make endurance sport what it is.”
