A fan-favorite — and currently trending — Nike Air Max boot is getting a new low-top makeover, adding versatility to the wintertime staple.
Longtime Nike designer Frank Cooke took to his Instagram stories to reveal the upcoming Air Max Goadome Low in Black/Black-Anthracite. The nearly seamless version shared by Cooke is reminiscent of late 2000s Air Max Goadome Low Seamless releases, although this new pair features some modifications to the shoe’s leather upper.
Notably, the new Air Max Goadome Low SP forgoes any prominent lateral Swoosh, moving the debossed logo to the heel of the shoe and adding perforations reminiscent of the standard Goadome across the side. The biggest change is the addition of metal rivets on the eyelets, giving the boot an aesthetic that’s both fresh and familiar.
“Yall sure we want to add a boot category to SOTY?,” Cooke wrote. “Well I guess the squad clipped that quickly. #goadomelow”

Originally released in 2000, the Air Max Goadome is having a renaissance this season, releasing in well-received black and cow-print pony hair styles. Rappers Wale and Yeat received their own versions of the boot. The rugged boot is part of Nike’s ACG (All Conditions Gear) line and was conceptualized by former designer Carl Blakeslee as a way for Nike to compete with outdoor footwear brands such as Timberland.
Beyond the Air Max Goadome, Nike has also recently reissued the Baltoro boot, a high-top which was first released in 1990. The typically colorful boot has been released in several styles thus far including a collaboration with Stüssy.
Along with the first look comes some early release date information. The Nike Air Max Goadome Low is expected to be released this spring from nike.com and select Nike Sportswear stockists for a retail price of $175. The style code for this black colorway is IQ0641-001.
